How to get your event(s) listed in the Folknet calendar

First, you don't have to be a member. However, you are more likely to have your event listed in the enhanced calendar if you are a member. Be sure to let us kow if you are a member when submitting your events.

Secondly, you need to have some basic information handy. This way nobody has to go online searching for these details. Here's the important stuff:

The date of the event. (This should be a date for next month's calendar. Don't send stuff for two or three months from now. It is absolutely guaranteed to get lost.

The name of the artist or band. Put it in bold if you can.

URL of the artist's website (optional)

Venue address, if it's not regularly listed in the calendar.

The venue's website URL, and phone number. (optional - do you think it's important ?)

The time start and ending times of the event. At least a start time.

The name of the event. (optional) Italics would be nice.

A description or genre of the music (optional)

Is there a cover charge? If so how much? If not, let us know it's free.

If it's an event like a festival, it would be really nice to include a listing or URL, so that folks know who ELSE is performing.
